Welcome to Legrand Elementary’s Library and Makerspace
Welcome to the Makerspace and Library! The library has recently been turned into a Makerspace. A makerspace is a place to gather, collaborate, create, and explore all things STREAM ( science, technology, reading, art, and math). Weekly classes will be held where learning is a hands-on experience.
The library will still be open Monday - Thursday for book check out. There is plenty of space for scholars to stay a while to read or work. The library will be accessible afterschool, and at recess times for students to come and visit, and shortly the digital catalog will be available to use throughout the week at school or home. The digital catalog enables students to locate books in our school library from any computer on or off campus Le Grand Elementary School Library Catalog.
Additional Book Information
Students can check out books once a library card has been signed by a guardian. Previously checked books must be returned before more books can be checked out. When a book becomes overdue, a $.05 fine will be charged for each school day the book is not returned. Students with any fines or overdue books may not check out new books. Books lost or damaged must be paid for by the borrower. Library fines can now be "paid" two different ways.
Cash
Reading minutes in the library - 5 minutes = $0.05
Our collection of books has greatly increased over the last few years. The library has many new books to enjoy this year. It is hoped that each student feels welcome and finds something that interests them in the library this year!
Cheers to a great year!
